Killzone 2 is the new, PS3 exclusive, Sci-Fi FPS, sequel to the PS2 game Killzone and the PSP game Killzone: Liberation. It is being developed by Guerrilla Games, and it’s being published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE). It was first announced at E3 2005 is meant to be newly released in 2009.
The game is set after the previous 2 games, 2 years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is attacking Helghan their opponent’s home world. You are Sev, a master of the Legion (the special force’s unit), gamers must complete a mission in Helghan to Emperor Visari, the Helghast leader, and strike the enemy through their heart.
The controls don’t seem that new, they feel allot like Call of Duty 4’s control’s scheme, you can look down-the-scope view for accuracy, fire from the hip and throw grenades by touching a button. Running is L3 COD-style, and you hug cover using L1. In the game you can do a bit of blindfire, or take a peak and poke your head out for a few shots, this all is in first person mode which in my opinion, will be a great thing to see in action.
The animations in the new game are amazing. You feel the bullets actually do something. Also it fixes a few problems in the previous games such as imbalanced guns, and accuracy.
Also included are vehicles, one of the definite vehicles is going to be a tank but expect something like a 4x4, and probably more which we don’t expect…
Who knows what else the Guerillas will have up there (costume) sleeves hopefully something to get PS3 users a sense of worth and something to actually be exited about for the future.
Some of the information from this article was from released by Sony at the recent Leipzig Games Convention where they also revealed information about the PS3 games: inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Heavy Rain, Resistance 2, SOCOM: Confrontation, Buzz!: Quiz TV, Siren Blood Curse, Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and PlayTV. Sony seam’s like they want to target more casual gamers.
