Halo 3 Guide: Plasma Rifle
Posted by Malcolm | 4/19/2009 05:04:00 AM | FPS, PC, Xbox 360 | 0 comments »The Plasma rifle isn’t a particularly bad gun but it does the job when needed, and can be great when dual wielded, both in campaign and multiplayer since plasma is very powerful against shields and flood.
It fires blue bolts of plasma at a great fire rate. It can be very accurate if fired in short bursts and have double the power if dual wielded. Also it is great at tearing down an opponents shield to nearly dead, and has an extremely fast melee.
However the bad thing is its not very accurate at medium-far range, also it can overheat and although it can tear away the shields it will take ages to actually finish the opponent off.
If you’re using it I recommend having a longer range weapon too, and I like to use it at close range dual wielded so that a melee can be used to finish the opponent off.
So overall it’s an alright gun but there are better guns out there that you would swap this gun for. This works well when you need to use it.
CoD:WAW Guide: Arisaka

The attachments you can get for the Arisaka include: Sniper Scope, Bayonet and Rifle Grenade. Sniper scope increases damage allot, in fact by 40%. Which might be why allot of people find it weak, also with scope, as with all the snipers, you might be surprised to find out that it has the same damage as the PTRS, however the PTRS can tear off limbs. The bayonet just increases melee range which doesn’t have the added damage of the sniper scope, if you wanted a bayonet I’d suggest using another just e.g. M1 Garand. In a game, using bayonet would be useless. Also Rifle Grenade would be useless since you could just use it with Gewehr and have the great damage of it.
Perks
The first perk depends on your gametype, for gametypes where you can respawn frequently, like team deathmatch, headquarters and domination, I would suggest bandolier. For other gametypes like sabotage and search and destroy, you’d probably want bouncing betty’s, since you don’t want people coming up your building and backstabbing you.
For the second perk I recommend stopping power or camouflage. Use stopping power almost all the time, however if you are running about, changing sniping location frequently you may want to choose camouflage to keep hidden.
Steady aim or iron lungs are the obvious choices, steady aim if you’re making a no scope montage and want to impress people watching the kill cam or iron lungs if you struggle battling against your waving crosshair.
So this gun is a great sniper. Almost anyone can use it to completely batter the opponent with the right attachments and perks shown above. So good gaming with your scoped Arisaka.
